I might actually be starting to understand what the Bible means when it says that trials can build endurance.

Today I faced black fear, such as I have not felt in years. But for once in my life I turned not only to God, but to His people for help. In the process I remembered that I was not a victim of my circumstances. I had made a poor choice, but I could choose to do what was right from then on, by God's grace and power.
